In order to connect more deeply with Durham's past and present, Duke Service-Learning and representatives from the Duke Office of Durham and Community Affairs, the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice, Duke Romance Studies, and North Carolina Central University convened virtually in Fall 2020 to discuss historical and present-day sites and issues of significance in Durham.​​​​​​​

Durham's West End Neighborhood:
Mayme Webb-Bledsoe, Assistant VP of Duke-Durham Neighborhood Partnership & Community Development and Duke Office of Durham and Community Affairs and Barbara Lau, Director of the Pauli Murray Project and Executive Director of the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice discuss the history of Durham's West End neighborhood, the Pauli Murray historic house, and other Durham stories.
A Tour Through Historic Black Durham:
Kyrie Mason and Geoff Gadsden present a dynamic aerial tour of historic Black Durham using Google Earth maps. Kyrie and Geoff are first-year graduate students in the Master's in History program at North Carolina Central University. They are working with Dr. Charles Johnson, Assistant Professor and Director of the Public History Program at North Carolina Central University, to preserve the rich history of Black Durham. Calleen Herbert is the Director of the Office of Community Engagement and Service (OCES) at North Carolina Central University.
Latinx in/en Durham:
Bethzaida Fernandez, a senior lecturer in the Romance Studies department Spanish program at Duke University presents "Latinos in/en Durham."

Sam Miglarese, Deputy Chief Administrator of Duke Office of Durham and Community Affairs, and Mayme Webb-Bledsoe, VP of the Duke-Durham Neighborhood Partnership & Community Development and Duke's Office of Durham and Community Affairs, discuss Duke's collaborations with Durham.
